Opportunities
We are currently recruiting a Postdoc! Job ad and instructions
We are recruiting a very limited number of trainees at all levels. Trainees can be supervised through the Kinesiology Graduate Program, the Electrical Engineering & Computer Science Graduate Program, or the Biology Graduate Program.
How to reach out
If you're interested in joining the lab, please send a brief email introducing yourself, along with a CV. Importantly, please answer the following questions (I'm interested in your own thinking, not the output of a large language model — a partial or uncertain answer in your own words is far more useful to me than a polished one that isn't yours):
What is a big question in neuroscience you want to make progress on? Be specific.
What is one of our papers that relates to this question, in your opinion?
How does that paper constructively work toward answering the question, or where does it fall short?
What are you hoping to do with us – a thesis/capstone project, a summer research assistantship, graduate study, or something else? If you're not sure yet, that's fine, just say so. Let me know your program and year as well.
A few sentences for each is plenty.
Undergraduate
If you’re an undergrad in the Kinesiology, Neuroscience, or EECS programs, it may be possible to do your thesis project in our lab or work as a research assistant over the summer. If you’re not currently enrolled in an undergraduate program, check out the Neuroscience Undergraduate Program and the Kinesiology Undergraduate Program.
Graduate
Prospective graduate students should check out these potential programs:
Electrical Engineering & Computer Science Graduate Program
Next deadline – domestic: May 2026, international: December 2025
Kinesiology and Health Science Graduate Program
Nextdeadline – domestic: May 2026, international: Jan 2026
or the Biology Graduate Program
Next deadline – domestic: May 2026, international: Feb 2026
Postdoctoral Fellows
There may be potential funding opportunites for postdocs. Please reach out if you want to advance your training in computational neuroscience, electrophysiology, brain-computer interfaces, or human and animal behaviour.
In 2026, the lab relocated to the new Neuroscience Extension of the Sherman Health Science Research Centre.
